Miller Lowry

LPC - Associate
Supervised by Jennifer Smothermon LPC-S, LMFT-S, RPT-S

Miller believes in empowering clients to reach their full potential and strives to do so in any way he can. Miller strongly believes that the client is the expert in the room and should be treated equally in this process. We are all human and make “mistakes” along the way, but he is confident he can support and exceed your needs during therapy. He promotes open and honest dialogue with clients, where they can voice any concerns. He looks at treatment as a marathon, not a sprint, and he is willing and eager to come alongside you in this beautiful journey to reaching clients' needs.

Charles Miller Lowry is a licensed professional counselor associate under the supervision of Jenniffer Smothermon LPC-S, RPT-S, and LMFT-S. During his two years of counseling experience, Miller has developed a passion for helping adolescents, adults, families, and couples address their unique situations in life. Miller specializes in issues related to Autism, anxiety, and anger with children six and up. He has also worked extensively with depression, domestic abuse, family conflict, faith-based issues, and grief. He currently does not accept insurance, and his private pay per session is a maximum of $50 per session and offers a sliding scale.

Charles Miller Lowry received his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas, Houston, TX (UST). He currently attends Abilene Christian University for his Master of Arts in Christian Ministry with a focus on Youth Ministry.

During his graduate internships, Miller ran weekly group meetings for college-aged students on the Autism Spectrum, the goal of which was to help clients with executive functioning skills. Along with these groups, he provided mental health services to 4th through 8th grade students at a local charter school in Houston. During his time at the school, he gained experience in counseling clients who suffered from severe anxiety, depression, chronic suicidal ideation, and domestic violence. To aid clients in reaching their goals in therapy, Miller integrates Person-centered treatment, Christian counseling, and solution-focused/strength-based practices.

As an LPC-Associate, Miller does not accept insurance, but does accept private pay with a sliding scale to meet client need.
