Cassie Christian

LCSW

Cassie is originally from Round Rock, Texas, and moved to Abilene to attend school at Abilene Christian University, where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work. Cassie then spent 2 years in College Station completing a clinical social work fellowship program with the Texas A&M Department of Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic. During this fellowship, Cassie received training in a wide variety of therapeutic modalities and worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and a broad range of diagnoses. After completing the program, Cassie became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and returned to Abilene. Cassie offers both in person and virtual appointments and accepts private pay as well as several major insurance providers.

As a therapist, Cassie takes a person-centered and strengths-based approach, meeting clients where they are. Cassie has training & experience in several evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT), prolonged exposure (PE), trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Cassie is also a recognized provider through the STRONG STAR Training Initiative of cognitive processing therapy (CPT). Cassie primarily works with individuals age 12 and older who want to process trauma, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, grief, self harm behaviors, or suicidal thoughts. She also has a lot of experience supporting moms, medical professionals, survivors of interpersonal violence, people with ADHD, caregivers, and clients seeking to break unhealthy generational patterns. Cassie believes therapy should be a safe place – one where you can explore every part of yourself without judgment or shame. She walks alongside her clients with compassion and honesty, offering grace, support, and gentle challenge as they work toward their goals. She likes to think of the therapy space as holy ground.
